How would you describe your experience at Choice?
“It has been one of the most challenging years of my life. I have grown professionally and have found out what I’m most passionate about. The youth we serve have shown me what it’s like to be resilient. I have a much greater understanding of how the systems our families are apart of operate and how they have failed our families. Experiencing that has ignited a fire inside of me to work to change those systems. I’ve found out more of who I am and what matters to me through Choice.”
What was your favorite moment of your Choice fellowship?
“When one of my youth told me that I’ve taught him how to be happy.”
What do you do for self-care?
“I surround myself with positivity. I try to stay connected with those I love. I also read, a lot.”
Favorite snack on the go?
“Cheez-its and Gummy Bears.”
What Harry Potter House would you choose?
“Gryffindor. FOREVER.”
What are you doing after Choice?
“I plan on going to graduate school to study clinical social work focusing on families and children. I would love to bring restorative practices into schools to help break the school to prison pipeline.”
